Address: Guinea Aluminum Ore Camp

Capacity Installed: 1 MWp PV + 2.15 MWh Storage

Equipment List: Five 40-foot foldable PV containers, 10 off-grid inverters, 10 energy storage cabinets

Project Background

The project is stationed at the Guinea aluminum mine camp, where there is no grid power and limited land space for construction. For ensured electricity supply, the system employs five 200 kWp photovoltaic folding containers and ten 215 kWh storage cabinets to maximize the utilization of solar energy by the camp.

Guinea has abundant solar resources, with a mean annual radiation of 2,010.1 kWh/m² and very little seasonal fluctuation. According to meteorological criteria, the site is a Grade A area of abundant solar resources, and it is very suitable for photovoltaic power generation.

System Configuration

Photovoltaic Containers: 5 × 206.4 kWp (total 1,032 kWp ≈ 1 MWp), each 40-foot high-cube container with C4 protection grade

Inverters: 10 sets of 100 kW off-grid MPPT inverters for maximum efficiency

Energy Storage: 10 sets of 215 kWh energy storage cabinets

Auxiliary Equipment: Integrated traction system for easy PV installation

Key Advantages

1. Land Saving & Flexible Installation

  • Compact foldable module design enables two to three rows folding in and saving land space.
  • Ideal for mining fields where ground installations are impractical.
  • Rapid deployment minimizes construction period and allows easy relocation in the future.

2. Lower O&M Costs

  • Maintenance-free construction with lower mechanical parts reduces failure rate by 50%+.
  • Yearly operating costs are just 30–50% of fixed-mount systems.
  • Foldable panels simplify cleaning, saving 40–60% labor.

3. Scalability & Economic Benefits

  • Parallel connection facilitates easy expansion from 10 kW to 1 MW, perfect for phased or evolving projects.
  • Even with moderately higher initial cost, 5–15% more energy harvest and land efficiency lower payback to 0.4–1 years.

4. Durability & Safety

  • Collapsible structure withstands severe weather conditions such as tropical storms, high wind, and sandstorms.
  • Galvanized steel or composite containers offer superior corrosion protection and a 30+ year lifespan.
