Project Overview

This project is deployed in Latvia, specifically along the Baltic coast, with the aim of providing energy to the Eastern European electricity market. The project has been set up as a pilot-scale energy storage system, with a 2.5MW/4MWh battery energy storage system deployed to mitigate grid instability and short-term power dispatch due to renewable energy and electricity price fluctuation.

This project has been set up to operate within an electricity price fluctuation environment of 15 minutes. The project has been set up to participate in the Nordic electricity trading market, with a peak-valley arbitrage strategy adopted to optimize revenue generation. The system will be charged during off-peak hours and discharged during peak hours to optimize revenue generation.

This pilot-scale energy storage system has also been set up as a reference to be scaled up to support the stability of the power grid.

Project Advantages

Peak-Valley Arbitrage Revenue Optimization

The containerized energy storage system takes advantage of the price difference in electricity prices through intelligent charge-discharge control. This maximizes revenue based on the price difference between low and high electricity prices in the Nordic market.

Efficient Energy Storage & Intelligent Control

The 4 MWh storage capacity allows for efficient energy storage and intelligent control through EMS.

Flexible Grid-Connected & Off-Grid Operation

The system is able to support smooth transitions between grid connection and off-grid operation, ensuring the power supply is stable under different grid conditions.

High Environmental Adaptability

The container has a C5 protection rating, which means it is highly resistant to humidity, corrosion, dust, and other severe conditions on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

Fast Deployment & Customization

The delivery time is about 65 days, which means the system is highly adaptable for rapid deployment according to the grid conditions.

Safety & Long-Term Reliability

The system is protected by overvoltage, overcurrent, and temperature protection, ensuring safety while operating. High-quality battery components have long operating life.
